Negative effects of parasite exposure and variable thermal stress on brown trout (Salmo trutta) under future climatic and hydropower production scenarios

چکیده
Future water temperature changes may have a profound impact on fish-parasite interactions. However, while the effect of fish, and particularly salmonids, is well-understood, its combined effects with parasitic exposure are not. Here, we use multi-stage experimental approach to explore increased temperatures consistent persistent climate change-induced warming extreme thermal fluctuations from hydropower (thermopeaking) brown trout alevins fry before during Saprolegnia parasitica. Parasite had strongest most significant survival both host life stages. The combination parasite exposure, pre-conditioning ongoing regime weak but influence alevin mortality. Both parasite-exposed experienced mortality when constant increase in was intermittent increases. outcomes this provide basis for future studies scaling up potential impacts that key fish species face wild. They also highlight anthropogenic populations, as pressures aquatic organisms likely intensify scenarios development thermopeaking, presence pathogens.

متن کاملMorphological differences in the skin of marble trout Salmo marmoratus and of brown trout Salmo trutta.
Despite being genetically very closely related, the marble trout Salmo marmoratus and the brown trout Salmo trutta exhibit marked phenotypic differences, particularly with regard to skin pigmentation. Histological analysis of skin from the head and gill cover of differently aged individuals of the two species was carried out in order to characterize differences in skin structure. The basic stru...
متن کاملHistopathological Effects of Chronic Exposure to Cadmium and Zinc on Kidneys and Gills of Brown Trout (Salmo trutta m. fario)
The aim of the present study was to investigate the histopathological changes on the organs of the brown trout (Salmo trutta m. fario) inflicted by per oral cadmium and zinc poisoning in the 46week experimental period. The fish were kept in well-oxygenated freshwater basins which were purposely set for the experiment. During the investigation, we set up two experimental basins along with the co...
متن کاملEffects of chloramine-T exposure on oxidative stress biomarkers and liver biochemistry of rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss (Walbaum), brown trout, Salmo trutta (L.), and grayling, Thymallus thymallus (L.)
Oxidative stress, biochemical and enzymological biomarkers were compared among rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss (Walbaum), brown trout, Salmo trutta (L.), and grayling, Thymallus thymallus (L.) to determine the mechanisms of hepatotoxicity caused by chloramine-T bath treatment. The fish were exposed to chloramine-T at a concentration of 9 g m for 20 min three times daily every three days. The...
متن کاملEffects of host genetics and environment on egg-associated microbiotas in brown trout (Salmo trutta).
Recent studies found fish egg-specific bacterial communities that changed over the course of embryogenesis, suggesting an interaction between the developing host and its microbiota. Indeed, single-strain infections demonstrated that the virulence of opportunistic bacteria is influenced by environmental factors and host immune genes. However, the interplay between a fish embryo host and its micr...
